Is Yan Diomande worth the hype? Watching the Ivorian winger against Norway in their round of 32 clash posed lots of questions for admirers, and those who felt bad when they heard PSG won the race for the youngster.

Amad Diallo, who came off the bench, helped the Ivory Coast regain their footing after Antonio Nusa's brilliant curler gave the Vikings the lead in the first half. Despite the attention on Diomande, the Leipzig player did not meet expectations.

Transfers will always be dicey, especially with youngsters. Major tournaments are also tricky as determinants of players' value. On the balance of how Diomande fared in the German Bundesliga last season, the rumored €100m asking price from Leipzig could be justified, but with his performances so far at this tournament, that price tag will haunt him for a long time.

Elsewhere in the transfer window, Tottenham has won the race for West Ham midfielder Matteus Fernandes. The midfield maestro was a star in a poor West Ham side last season, proving to be the biggest cash cow for the Hammers.

Manchester United was in the race for Fernandes as the Red Devils continue their midfield rebuild following the departure of Casemiro and a long-term injury to Manuel Ugarte. Spurs agreed to an £85m deal for the Portuguese youngster and will get their man in the coming days.

Still at Tottenham, Roberto De Zerbi has sanctioned the signing of Sandro Tonali from Newcastle. The Magpies are reluctant to sell, but the Italian wants to play elsewhere. A fee of £100m is being discussed for the Italian, which could help Newcastle's books.

Finally, will Arsenal get Bruno Guimaraes? The Brazilian is proving himself in the Selecao's midfield at the ongoing FIFA World Cup, while Andrea Berta is discussing his move to the Emirates. With Tonali on his way out, are the Magpies prepared for such an exodus?
