This gameweek preview and betting tips breaks down Man City vs Arsenal, Chelsea vs United and more across Europe. One slip could change everything.
This gameweek preview is really about pressure. City-Arsenal has title-race energy all over it. Chelsea and United are fighting over credibility as much as points.
Spurs are still staring at a relegation scrap that sounded impossible a month ago, and Bayern could win the Bundesliga before Sunday night dinner.
Italy is a different sort of mess. Inter can almost smell the title, but the Champions League race behind them is the proper street fight now. Spain is quieter in league terms this weekend because there is no La Liga round, but that does not mean Spain is quiet: Atlético and Real Sociedad meet in the Copa del Rey final, which is big enough to hijack the whole conversation anyway.
Upset special: Everton to beat Liverpool. Derby games do not care about your tidy little form charts, and Liverpool still look like a side carrying too much emotional baggage.
Banker: Bayern Munich to beat Stuttgart. Bayern are 12 points clear, already on 76 points, and can wrap the title up if results go their way.

Premier League
Brentford vs Fulham
Brentford are still hanging around the European conversation, while Fulham are one of those sides who can look sharp one week and soft the next.
The bigger theme here is consistency: Brentford have given themselves a real shot at a strong finish, and home games like this have to become non-negotiable.
Prediction: Brentford 2-1 Fulham
Tip: Brentford to win. They have looked the steadier side in the run-in.
Leeds United vs Wolves
This is survival football now. Leeds can pretty much clear the air with a win, while Wolves are still stuck to the floor and running out of matches.
When a team at the bottom needs a miracle every week, it usually means the miracle is not coming.
Prediction: Leeds United 2-0 Wolves
Tip: Leeds United to win. Wolves look like a side already half-accepted to the drop.
Newcastle United vs Bournemouth
Newcastle against Bournemouth is one of those fixtures that could turn into a proper mess in the best way.
Bournemouth just beat Arsenal away, which tells you they are not arriving politely, and Newcastle have the kind of attacking talent that can make any game chaotic.
Prediction: Newcastle United 2-2 Bournemouth
Tip: Both teams to score. This game has goals written all over it.
Spurs vs Brighton
Spurs are 18th. Say it slowly. Spurs are 18th in April and now without Cristian Romero for the rest of the season.
That is not bad luck. That is a season falling to bits in public.
Brighton, by contrast, have won five of their last six league games and will not arrive feeling sorry for anyone.
Prediction: Spurs 1-2 Brighton
Tip: Brighton to win. Romero’s absence matters, and Spurs have stopped looking trustworthy in any phase of a match.
Chelsea vs Manchester United
Chelsea have lost five of their last six matches and are still trying to hang onto the top-five race.
United arrive with a defensive crisis, with Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire suspended, but they are still seven points clear of Chelsea and know a result here would basically keep the Blues at arm’s length.
This is a funny game because both sides have reasons not to trust themselves.
Chelsea can look neat for 30 minutes and then forget how to finish.
United can look organised until the back line starts creaking. It screams tension more than quality.
Prediction: Chelsea 1-1 Manchester United
Tip: Draw. Neither side has done enough lately to deserve blind faith.
Aston Villa vs Sunderland
Villa are still chasing Champions League football, while Sunderland have quietly put together a season with far more steel than people expected.
Sunderland beating Spurs last week helped their own momentum, but Villa at home is a different assignment entirely.
Prediction: Aston Villa 2-0 Sunderland
Tip: Aston Villa to win. They have more quality and far more to lose.
Everton vs Liverpool
This is the biggest derby of the weekend outside the title race, and it feels nasty in the right way.
Liverpool did stop the slide against Fulham, but the mood around them is still fragile, and Everton are exactly the sort of side that loves making a local rival miserable when the nerves are visible.
A derby at this point of the season is rarely about pretty football. It is about who keeps their head when the game turns emotional.
Liverpool still have the bigger names, but Everton have the better chance of dragging it into a scrap. That is why I fancy the upset here.
Prediction: Everton 2-1 Liverpool
Tip: Everton draw no bet. Liverpool look vulnerable, and derby football punishes vulnerable sides.
Nottingham Forest vs Burnley
This is not glamorous, but it matters.
Forest need to keep stacking points if they want breathing room, and Burnley are getting to the stage where every dropped point feels like confirmation. Survival games are rarely clever.
They are usually just about nerve.
Prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-0 Burnley
Tip: Under 2.5 goals. This has all the markings of a cagey, nervous game.
Manchester City vs Arsenal
City know exactly what a win does. Guardiola called it a final, and he was not dressing it up for the cameras.
Arsenal are still top, but City are close enough that one result here changes the whole feel of the race.
Arsenal’s problem is brutal timing. Bukayo Saka is out. Mikel Merino is out. Madueke is a maybe.
Arteta also has to monitor Martin Odegaard, Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori after a draining week.
You do not want to walk into the Etihad with half your right side held together by hope.
City are not perfect either, but they look like a team that remembers this stage of the season.
Arsenal, by contrast, lost at home to Bournemouth and suddenly everyone is speaking in that tense whisper people use when they think a bottle job might be loading.
This is where title races get cruel.
Arsenal have been the better story for most of the season, but City have the scar tissue and the calm.
If Arsenal get through this with a win, they probably finish the job. If they do not, everyone starts backing City.
Prediction: Manchester City 2-1 Arsenal
Tip: Manchester City to win. Arsenal’s absences feel too big, and City finally look like City again.
Crystal Palace vs West Ham
Palace have been awkward enough lately, and West Ham at least gave themselves a pulse again by smashing Wolves 4-0 last week.
That win dragged them out of the bottom three and changed the tone completely, but away at Palace is still the sort of game that tests how real that bounce is.
Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-1 West Ham
Tip: Both teams to score. West Ham have found a bit of life, and Palace usually make games open.
La Liga
There is no La Liga round this weekend because Spain’s attention shifts to the Copa del Rey final.
Atlético Madrid vs Real Sociedad (Copa del Rey final)
Atletico come into the final off the back of knocking Barcelona out of Europe and reaching their first semi-final in years.
That sort of week either empties you or convinces you that nothing can touch you.
With Simeone teams, it is usually the second one.
Real Sociedad are not here to make up numbers, but this feels like Atletico’s moment.
Prediction: Atletico Madrid 2-1 Real Sociedad
Tip: Atletico Madrid to lift the trophy. Their edge in big-match nastiness still counts for plenty.
Serie A
Inter vs Cagliari
Inter are top and can move another step closer to the title with a home win over Cagliari.
This is the sort of game champions turn into routine, even when the rest of us try to make it sound dramatic.
Prediction: Inter 2-0 Cagliari
Tip: Inter to win. Leaders at home against lowly opposition is not the place for heroics.
Napoli vs Lazio
Napoli are still clinging to the idea of a title race, but they have no room left for stumbles.
Lazio are awkward enough to make this deeply uncomfortable.
Prediction: Napoli 1-1 Lazio
Tip: Draw. Napoli have looked like a side running hot and cold at exactly the wrong time.
Roma vs Atalanta
This is one of the best games in Italy this weekend because it matters twice: points and direct damage.
Roma and Atalanta are both in that Champions League pack where one win can move you from nervous to confident very quickly.
Prediction: Roma 2-1 Atalanta
Tip: Roma draw no bet. Home edge matters when the table is this tight.
Hellas Verona vs Milan
Milan are still in the Champions League fight, but they have made life too hard for themselves too often.
Verona away should be a game they control.
Prediction: Hellas Verona 0-2 Milan
Tip: Milan to win. They have more quality and cannot afford another lazy afternoon.
Juventus vs Bologna
Juventus against Bologna matters far more than the names alone suggest.
Bologna are one of the sides crowding that Champions League race, and Juve still have not fully convinced anyone that they are above being dragged into a tense, ugly draw.
Prediction: Juventus 1-1 Bologna
Tip: Under 2.5 goals. This feels like a proper Serie A chess match with very little generosity.
Bundesliga
Hoffenheim vs Borussia Dortmund
Dortmund are still chasing their own targets, while Hoffenheim remain awkward enough to make this a real problem.
This is not an easy reset game.
Prediction: Hoffenheim 1-2 Borussia Dortmund
Tip: Both teams to score. Dortmund rarely make these games calm.
Bayer Leverkusen vs Augsburg
Leverkusen have found a bit of momentum again, and Augsburg is the sort of fixture they have to win if they want their late charge to feel real.
Prediction: Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 Augsburg
Tip: Leverkusen to win. They finally look like they have found their timing again.
Frankfurt vs RB Leipzig
Leipzig are still in that Champions League fight, which makes every remaining match feel loaded.
Frankfurt are awkward enough to make this a proper stress test.
Prediction: Frankfurt 1-1 RB Leipzig
Tip: Draw. Leipzig are good, but this is exactly the sort of fixture where top-four nerves show up.
Bayern Munich vs Stuttgart
Bayern have scored over 100 league goals and are not limping to the title. They are stomping on it.
Prediction: Bayern Munich 3-1 Stuttgart
Tip: Bayern Munich to win. This is the banker and it does not need a clever explanation.
Borussia Mönchengladbach vs Mainz
This is the sort of Sunday fixture that swings around unexpectedly. Neither side screams control.
Prediction: Borussia Mönchengladbach 1-1 Mainz
Tip: Both teams to score. That feels like the safest read here.
Champions League
There is no Champions League round this midweek. The quarter-finals are done, and the semi-finals do not start until later in April.
Back any of these? Let me know what you're going with this weekend.
