As the 2026 FIFA World Cup hits the knockout phase, we take a break from the tournament to bring you some transfer news.

Where do we start from? Chelsea has sounded out Sunderland for their experienced midfielder, Granit Xhaka.

The former Arsenal man could be joining the Blues this summer, with the Black Cats rejecting Chelsea's opening bid of £8m.

Everyone has emphasized the importance of having a calm presence in the midfield for Chelsea.

A proven leader with Premier League experience could help Chelsea's cause in the coming season.

And the Blues have identified the Swiss, who is on international duty with Switzerland, as the man to galvanize their midfield.

Another former Bayer Leverkusen player is on the move. Alejandro Grimaldo is a subject of transfer from Atlético Madrid.

The deal is expected to be sealed on Monday after the German side accepted Atletico's €20m bid for the creative defender.

Is it a surprise to note that Juventus has gone back to PSG for Randal Kolo Muani?

The Frenchman spent the last two seasons on loan at Juventus and Tottenham, respectively.

The old lady of Turin looks close to an agreement with PSG for the French striker.

The next story is that of Ivorian wonderkid Yan Diomande

The youngster has reportedly agreed to a move to PSG and will join the European champions after the World Cup.

The likes of Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in the Leipzig winger, but PSG is leading the race.

Where does that leave Bradley Barcola

The French winger could join Kolo Muani, Lee Kang-In, and Goncalo Ramos on the exodus from PSG.

Liverpool is interested in Barcola, as is Premier League champion Arsenal. That's another one to keep an eye on.

Finally today, we can confirm that former Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has agreed to a move to MLS side Chicago Fire.

The Polish striker left Barcelona at the end of the season and will be headed for a new challenge in the MLS.
