And then the game finishes tonight; will that famous Manchester United fan head to the salon, or will he have to start counting again?

Manchester United players have just one job at the London Stadium tonight: find ways to extend their winning run to five. The win over Spurs has not only earned them belief, but also gotten their famous fan a haircut after such a long time.

West Ham moved within three points of Nottingham Forest with a huge win over fellow strugglers Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday. The win wasn’t only pivotal for their survival; it also put them in a good place for this home game against the form team of the league.

The huge irony written all over the relegation dogfight is the fact that Nuno Espirito Santo, the former Forest coach, could be the one to end his former side’s Premier League run. It would be interesting to know what Evangelos Marinakis feels about that.

Manchester United weren’t exactly at their best against Spurs, and you feel they were helped by Christian Romero’s moment of madness. 11 v 11 might have been different, as United couldn’t make the most of the numerical advantage until Bruno Fernandes scored the second.

West Ham knows that every point counts at this stage. There will only be twelve games to play after this one at home; they want to climb out of the drop zone, and they won’t make it easy for the Red Devils. United on their parts just must keep their shape; they’re the favourite to win this.

West Ham will depend on the magic of Jarrod Bowen as they always do. Cryscensio Summerville has been a revelation in recent games; the Manchester United defence must be wary of his pace, trickery and newfound scoring touch.

Brentford has Bryan Mbeumo, who seems not to want to stop scoring. The Cameroonian’s run seems to always find the right passes from Fernandes; that combination will trouble West Ham’s weak defence when they meet on Tuesday.

Matheus Cunha is another player to watch out for. The Brazilian is in inspired form and could be immense for the Red Devils. Amad Traore is another player to watch out for. With Jean-Claire Todibo still suspended, United’s run at the Hammers’ defence could be easier than imagined.

Verdict: Manchester United to win this one.
