The transfer window is now closed, and three game weeks have been completed, with many scenes looking all too familiar. Here are five things we learnt from the first instalment of the Premier League.

Liverpool is still the team to beat.

After beating Arsenal on Sunday in a game that showed us the true picture of where the title would most likely swing this season, Liverpool went on to sign Alexander Isak.

It was a long tussle, but the Kops got their man. If they could go on to beat the seemingly strongest team in the league without Isak, then smaller teams should be worried. However, will their lack of depth in defence haunt them?

Newly promoted sides won't all be relegated.

All three newly promoted sides from the last two seasons went down at the first time of asking; we won't witness that this season with the new boys impressing already.

Sunderland has won twice already, and the duo of Leeds United and Burnley have both recorded wins, with Leeds earning a huge point at the weekend and United needing a last-gasp mistake from Jadon Antony to beat the Cherries.

Is Manchester City still in trouble?

The Citizens have lost twice this season already, with their season looking like what they endured last season. Are they back to their old selves?

They don't have as many injury issues as they did last season, and in fact, they have sent out some of the players they brought in to cushion the effects of last season. Yet, they still can't win games despite bringing in a few top-class players. Is Pep Guardiola losing it?

Brentford and West Ham to go down?

West Ham may have destroyed Nottingham Forest, which was against bookmakers' predictions; however, their problems still persist with weak squad quality.

Brentford is another side that is primed to go down this season; the Bees have a win on the board, but the manner of their loss to Sunderland was embarrassing. Keith Andrews looks like the first manager to be sacked; we keep an eye on that one.

Chelsea and their squad uncertainties

Chelsea had a moment to forget this weekend with the Nicolas Jackson situation; the Blues halted the Senegalese's move to Bayern, but the player insisted on leaving after being treated as being surplus to requirements.

Liam Delap is injured, so the Blues recalled Marc Guiu from Sunderland, and then they signed Garnacho from Manchester United, yet they seem like they're missing something. Do they have enough to compete, especially in the face of fatigue?
