Fans of Liverpool must be on cloud 9 as they host Tottenham on Sunday. It is no longer a matter of if; it is a matter of when, and even at that, they know it’s as good as done.

When Liverpool won the title five years ago, they did it without their fans, but it’s different this time around; the whole of Anfield will be rocking on Sunday as they confirm their title, and it will taste sweeter, and you can’t blame them.

For Tottenham, it is the other way round. Their fans who would be at Anfield today are probably making the trip out of love and not out of any expectation. They don’t believe they stand any chance against the champions-elect; they are only turning up to show loyalty.

Tottenham lies in 16th on the log, and one burning question many would ask is if the three relegated sides had put up a fight, would United and Tottenham be in a messy relegation dogfight? It’s a million-dollar question that will never get answered.

It’s coronation day at Anfield! They will be fired up to win it in front of their fans and to do it in a great fashion to put a bow on the league season, one that has seen them triumph from a position of underdog; this is a complete underdog story!

Arne Slot came in, and not many gave him a chance to even be in the top four conversations; however, with Arsenal failing to hit the heights of the last two seasons and Manchester City forgetting how to win games consistently, Slot rode his luck, and on Sunday, he will be a Premier League champion at the first attempt.

Tottenham does have a date against Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday. It’s a game that could define their entire season, and like Manchester United, Spurs could actually go to the Champions League from the 16th position; that would be weird.

Spurs will keep an eye on that game on Thursday; you don’t expect them to go all out against Liverpool as they preserve their legs. This again points to the fact that it’s setting up for a win for the champions-in-waiting on Sunday.

Mohammed Salah is chasing a record; will he be on the scoresheet on Sunday? Will Tottenham give us a show or just turn up to be beaten as usual? Whatever happens, Liverpool’s second title in five years will not be denied at Anfield on Sunday.

Verdict: Liverpool to win.
