Tottenham has gained a reputation as a club prone to swings; they can achieve a stellar performance one day and fall short against a struggling team the next. It’s more of a mental block than anything else.

As we speak, Liverpool has emerged as the top team in the country, a testament to Arne Slot's remarkable start at Anfield. We all agreed that the shoes of Jurgen Klopp are too big for anyone to fill; look how the Dutchman is rocking it with ease.

Sitting pretty at the top of the Champions League log, under no pressure whatsoever, and peeling away at the top of the Premier League log with a game in hand against local rivals Everton, everyone must be envious of Liverpool right now.

Manchester City will not participate in the current title race. The Cityzens must be eyeing a top-four finish after losing 2-1 at Aston Villa on Saturday, their sixth loss in the Premier League in just eight games. What a tragic story for Pep and his formidable side.

This is about Liverpool and Tottenham, and we must look at things intricately. Ange Postecoglou said he always wins something in his second season; should we just hand him the Carabao Cup? He’s in the semifinals already, and he will play Liverpool over two legs. If he emerges victorious, he will face the winner between Arsenal and Newcastle.

Liverpool booked their semifinal ticket in the League Cup with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Southampton, a tough game to say the least, but they got the job done. Now they have a chance to win an unprecedented quadruple in May of next year.

Spurs showed why fans should be excited and worried at the same time in the win over United in midweek; they raced to a three-goal lead, and then Fraizer Forster made two stupid errors, handing United two goals before a strange Heung Min Son corner sailed over Altay Bayindir in the United goal.

With Christian Romero and Micky Van De Ven unavailable, Rat Dragusin and Archie Grey will fill in at centerback, and that should delight Mohammed Salah and his cohorts. Spurs have no problems in midfield and upfront, but can their defence maintain its strength?

Salah is certain to start, but with Diogo Jota back to full fitness, the trio of Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, and Luis Diaz will all have to fight for their place. Alexis Mac Allister returns to the fold, and so does Andy Robertson after serving his ban for last weekend’s red card in midweek.

Verdict: Liverpool is to win.
