The champions have yet to drop a point this season; they don’t look like stopping, and you must say some prayers for the bees who are out there doing what not many can do.

There’s no Ivan Toney; the big man has left for Saudi Arabia, and the baton is now with Yoan Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo. The Brentford side looks interesting; two wins from three is impressive if you consider they only lost to Liverpool.

Brentford fans will like to reflect on the past a little as it brought them joy in the past; two seasons ago, the Bees beat Manchester City home and away; is this happening again for them? Are they capable of achieving anything at the Etihad?

Erling Haaland has scored two hatricks in three games, a sensational return of seven goals that earned him the player of the month award for August already, and you wonder how many more he'll win before the season concludes in May.

There were rumors of a potential problem with the big Norwegian; he scored a goal in their most recent international match, but his close friend passed away, and he appeared injured. Pep Guardiola addressed this issue in his press conference, stating that he will evaluate him before kickoff.

Speaking of Guardiola, the Spaniard was bullish when he was asked about the ongoing financial crime charges against Manchester City; he dismissed every question and finished it with a sarcastic question: “You expect the champions to be found guilty?”

How can Brentford earn something from this game? They must be brave while attacking. They could straddle the line and surprise Manchester City with a counterattack. As their new talisman, Mbeumo will play a crucial role in everything they do, and City must closely monitor him.

Every time teams return from the international break, you hardly know what to expect, but this could be the game where we see Rodri for the first time this season. The Euros player of the tournament is back and available; he needs minutes ahead of Arsenal's visit.

Watch out for Savinho on the flank and Phil Foden on the return. The player of the season for last term has only featured for half a game this season; he is back in the squad after the illness that ruled him out of the internationals; this won’t be easy for the Bees.

Verdict: Straight win City.
