Newcastle has lost steam in recent times and they need to buckle up to avoid slipping out of the top four in the premier league after working so hard to keep up with the elites, it’s time for the hardest part now.

Liverpool is beginning to welcome their injured players and things seem to be looking up for them but a win away at Newcastle would prove major for Jurgen Klopp’s side following their emphatic Merseyside derby win last weekend.

Newcastle currently sits fourth in the premier league but are in danger of slipping behind Spurs; Eddie Howe’s side has just two points advantage over Tottenham Hotspur but also with a game in hand that could prove pivotal.

Liverpool is still without Luis Diaz but Diogo Jota and Virgil Van Dijk are back and would be able to start if need be against the Magpies at St. James’s Park. Bobby Firminho is available to join the now-flowing partnership of Darwin Nunez and Mohammed Salah, it’s a good time for Liverpool.

How will Newcastle line up? Bruno Guimaraes is suspended and will not be available but the defense is expected to be as solid as ever; Isak and Wilson can play together but will Eddie Howe let them? Miguel Almiron is expected to be fit after picking a knock last weekend.

Liverpool with a win will go up to sixth on the log if they score as many as three goals and would still have a game in hand on a couple of teams around them Champions League football is not impossible if Liverpool goes on a rampage but it starts from here.

The first leg was the only loss Newcastle has suffered all season long but the Magpies have drawn too many for comfort. Most Newcastle fans are still bitter with a contentious injury-time winner by Carvalho to hand Newcastle the defeat and they can revenge here.

The gas is burning low at Newcastle, a strong result here can kickstart their season again and should they get it, Manchester United might need to watch their backs as Newcastle would want the third spot back, it’s interesting to say the least.

Verdict: Liverpool to win or draw
