Kylian Mbappe regrets turning down Real Madrid to extend with PSG, will he get his move away? (Photo credit: PSG)

There has always been something odd about Kylian Mbappe at PSG but the relationship between the French speed star and the capital club has now broken down beyond repairs.

Mbappe was close to joining Real Madrid at the end of last season but a reported mouth-watering offer from the Arab-led PSG hierarchy changed his mind and he ditched his long-term dream of joining the Los Blancos at the altar of mega funds.

The latest news is about Mbappe criticizing club head coach Cristopher Galtier and his tactics; Mbappe also has problems with the direction the club is headed and has publicly voiced his differences. It is also reported that Mbappe wants to leave PSG in January and wouldn’t mind anywhere else.

The club has come out to wish the Frenchman well in his bid to leave but they will not sanction a move to Real Madrid. Club director of football, Luis Ocampos has denied any knowledge of the ongoing rumblings and would rather focus on results.

Mbappe is said to have asked for a number 9 so he can move into space after recently saying he enjoys playing for France more than for PSG; he was also quoted to have asked for a central defender which was not obliged and his relationship with Neymar has badly deteriorated.

No player is bigger than a club and when one encourages toxicity, it bites deeper into the club than anyone can imagine; maybe it’s time to allow the Frenchman to go, and maybe the club would find a solution but results are being affected after another stalemate at home to Benfica in Europe, the third on the bounce.
