The weekend is done and dusted as elite teams look forward to the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday and Wednesday, we look at a few interesting hot topics from the weekend that served the good, the bad and the ugly as usual.

Pedri wins golden boy award

It was casted in stone, written in the stars and a worst kept secret, while there are growing fears across the world of football for the fitness of Pedri, the Barcelona midfield prodigy has scooped the golden boy award to match one of Lionel Messi’s many feats.

We knew at some points, it’s either someone goes to jail for child abuse or the limbs of the teenager collapse, one of them has happened with the young lad suffering setback on his recovery process and we can’t but hope we’re not having another Jack Wilshere 2.0 situation

United want Pochettino… Really?

Manchester United are their own problem, we can say that again as they failed to plan for the exit of their Norwegian legend Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, but with multiple outlets reporting that the club has shortlisted former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino as a possible replacement, we must ask what they’re smoking at Old Trafford.

Oh and there’s one more weird name on the list, Brendan Rodgers of Leicester City who by all standards doesn’t fit the profile of a club of Manchester United’s stature, it’s about to be another rinse and repeat situation. No respite for the fans to be honest.

Is French Ligue really worth the investment?

The latest incident in the French Ligue 1 involving Dmitri Payet and the fans of Olympic Lyon, it wasn’t the first time such would happen and if you’re a follower of the league, you can almost tell that no way in hell that would be the end of it.

Crowd violence is not a new thing in French football and you wonder why any serious investor would think of buying a club down there or invest big in TV rights, whatever decision is made on the Lyon incident isn’t even our business, they should fix their house or be thrown out of Europe. Nonsense!
