Premier league, betting
Hi guys, another weekend is here, time to run through weekend games and deliver our takes on possible outcomes for the punters. Sport betting is fun, but always remember to gamble responsibly.
Last weekend was quite interesting, Arsenal did what they know how to do best whenever they’re in the mood, beating Tottenham wasn’t news for Arsenal until recently, for good ten years, in the late 90s running till late 2000s, Spurs never got a league point against Arsenal, but things changed over time and it became a heated contest and the white half of north London has been on top but not last weekend, partly due to Pochetino’s decision to start half fit trio of Mousa Dembele, Harry Kane and Dele Alli, they were all shadows of themselves and had to be shipped out.
On the other side, Arsenal fans once again found confusion at the feet of Mesut ozil, dude comes to party whenever he feels like, frustrating at times and amazing to watch when he’s in the mood, Arsenal are away to Burnley this time, bogey team, bogey ground and Sean Dyche has done a hell of a great job this term on these lads, on same points with Arsenal and a win on Saturday could see them up third if surrounding results go their way, Arsenal have it all to do after resting regulars to lose at FC Cologne in Europa, albeit they have already qualified as group winners.
Friday night football returns, rare but for the third time this season with troubled West Ham hosting a resurgent Leicester City, this is a tricky game, David Moyes would look to avoid the early pressure syndrome into his West Ham reigns after losing at Watford last weekend, he must win at home while Leicester needs to dust the lessons they learned against City last weekend, the brilliance of Kevin de Bruyne left them dumbfounded, what a harsh footballing lesson that was.
Crystal Palace will try again to win, but against Stoke City who can’t do without 36 year old Peter Crouch, palace are rock bottom, they need a result here, Stoke aren’t doing very well either, a point here and there has them in 15th spot, four from safety, they will fancy their chances here. Playing yet another 2:2 at home to another struggling side frustrated Palace when Everton visited last weekend, they need to take chances and have Wilfried Zaha decide on time when it matters too, either side would fancy a win here.
Having lost to Arsenal, thereby losing grounds on the log leaders, it’s down to Tottenham to respond this weekend as Westbrom visits. The Baggies were destroyed on their own ground by angry Chelsea, Tony Pulis has a reputation of having never gone down with any team, that record is threatened this season, this is his worst start to a season and he doesn’t even look like healing the rot. Spurs beat Dortmund in midweek, strong statement, something that should sincerely worry the Baggies, if the loss to Arsenal was a blip, extra training might be needed on how to stop Eriksen, like Arsenal did, if not, expect Harry Kane to wheel away in celebration severally.
Newcastle are home to Watford, they scored first against Manchester United, but with the men back at Old Trafford, it’s left to see how the Toons will hold on, they fell apart at the feet of Pogba and co, understandable but with Watford also back to winning ways, this would come to who wants it more, Rafael Benitez knows how to tinker his way but so does the red hot Marco Silva who is highly wanted for the vacant seat at Everton.
The match of the weekend is definitely at Anfield, Liverpool host Chelsea, game of rich history, flamboyance, goals and take aways. Chelsea romped past Westbrom and Qarabag consecutively, Liverpool did beat Southampton 3:0 last weekend but went from ecstasy to misery in midweek when they threw away a three goal lead to end the game 3:3 in Seville, whatever happened to them at the break must be analyzed and dealt with.
Chelsea are on form, ready to climb on the table, whoever wins this will leap clear of the other, if Chelsea wins, they go six clear of the Kops, if Liverpool wins, they leapfrog Chelsea on the log and cast further doubts around the seats of Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge, this is football, anything can happen.
Swansea are embattled, they now ship goals on a steady basis like no man’s business without giving a fight, they were terrible against Burnley and they better put their house in order as Bournemouth comes to town. Southampton doesn’t score goals, Everton doesn’t keep clean sheets, they both face off on Sunday just before the Arsenal game, that should be fun.
The Manchester clubs are on fire in the league, City took good care of Leicester last weekend, they patiently waited, carved openings and expertly took their chances, Manchester United had to wait too, conceded first, went back to the basics and dispatched Newcastle like county mails. United host Brighton on Saturday, expect the usuals and a certain god of Swedish football might likely start, putting pressure on mega signing Romelu Lukaku.
Huddersfield are the next to try to stop Manchester City, anything can happen, but David Wagner and his lads will need more than regular training sessions to beat City, some elements of luck and maybe bad day for the entire bunch from the Etihad because all they need to win is a good day for just one of their eleven... it’s difficult. We’re down to our predictions now, tricky games everywhere but someone has to do it so... Let’s do it!
