Yes, it is an FA Cup weekend, but a lot is happening in the world of football across leagues and countries. It's important to take a look at some of the buzzing headlines across grounds.

Dani Alves' conviction overturned

Remember the showman at right-back for Barcelona? The famous Brazilian Dani Alves who was convicted by a Spanish court on the allegations of rape and assault has now been ruled to be innocent after a successful appeal by his lawyers.

Alves and his team were able to prove that he never forced the woman in question to get involved and has now been released from prison. Alves, one of the most decorated footballers in history, was with Pumas at the time of his arrest, and the Mexican side tore up his contract upon conviction.

Is Rashford back, or is it Fugazee?

On-loan Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford seems to have gotten his groove back at Villa Park, but we have seen this before, and it's important to be cautious.

Rashford has weighed in with assists and impressive performances for Aston Villa upon signing for them in January, and he is now back in the England squad, but is he really back to his best, or is it his usual purple patch?

Brazil sacks Dorival after Argentina rout

It was always coming. After their embarrassing showing against their arch-rivals at the Buenos Aires Stadium, the Brazil football authorities have announced the sacking of coach Dorival Junior.

Argentina beat Brazil 4-1 on Tuesday to book a place at the next World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada, leaving Brazil to fight it out and in danger of missing out. The five-time world champions can still qualify, but Dorival won't be the man anymore.

Osasuna sues Barca over ineligible player.

After losing 3-0 to Barcelona on Thursday in a La Liga fixture, Osasuna has written to FIFA to complain about the eligibility of Inigo Martinez, who played for the entirety of the match, having been left out of Spain's squad due to injury.

"[It] specifies that a player who does not join or leaves his national team for medical reasons may not play matches for his club during the five calendar days following the end of the international period.

"Osasuna believes that Iñigo Martínez, whose absence from the Spanish national team was due to a medical leave, was not eligible to play in yesterday's match by FIFA regulations."

Now, is this enough to sanction Barcelona?
