It’s SOS time at Arsenal; no matter how calm Mikel Arteta sounded at his presser on Friday, the Arsenal manager cannot lie to himself that Arsenal is not in trouble with the injury crisis.

You don’t have lots of excuses against a team like Leicester City, but with Kai Havertz confirmed to be out for the rest of the season and Arsenal still missing a host of forwards, the club’s decision not to add an extra body in the attack during the last window.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy suffered a run of horrible results before finally finding a chink in the Tottenham armour, but the Foxes have lost two games since that famous win over Tottenham. Will they find their groove against the Gunners?

There have been a host of iconic games between the two, but even in Leicester’s unforgettable triumphant season, Arsenal was the only team that defeated the 2016 champions home and away; however, they have also enjoyed some successes against Arsenal, and they will draw inspiration from those.

Arsenal’s form is great; regardless of the cup loss at Newcastle before they went on break to Dubai, the mood is still quite high after they took the reigning champions to the cleaners with a 5-1 win at the Emirates. Can they go on a rampage again?

Leicester’s quality isn’t a lot, but they have men who can show up with hard work and grit; however, they have mistakes in the team, especially in their defence, where they sometimes switch off to allow opponents to take advantage.

Leicester looked like they were going to dump United out of the FA Cup until Wilfred Ndidi was removed to rest his legs having just returned from a long-term injury; their collapse was epic as old boy Harry Maguire rose the highest to head home at the back post late on.

Leicester will set up to defend and hope to catch Arsenal on the counter. The return to fitness of Jamie Vardy is a big plus; the veteran striker has a way of finding the back of the net against the Gunners. Will he be able to do it again on Saturday?

Arsenal’s main problem is now upfront with key men available in defence. Leandro Trossard, Ethan Nwaneri, and Raheem Sterling are the only available players up front, with Butler Oyedeji expected to be added from the academy. Will these players be sufficient to get them a result?

Verdict: Arsenal to win.
