Life at Anfield is interesting at the moment. While it can be abysmally annoying to witness key players falling into the treatment room, it’s also heartwarming to see academy boys step up to the plate on big days. Klopp must be proud of his wards.

Nottingham Forest must be hurt by the good news for Everton; it means they’re now right above the drop zone and have played a game more than Luton. Should the Hatters win their game in hand against Bournemouth, they will be just one point off Forest.

The form of the hosts isn’t encouraging for a team that wants to beat the drop. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side fell to a late Casemiro header in the FA Cup in midweek against Manchester United. It was always going to be a tough game, but they had chances, and it would be sad to lose it so late in the game.

The visit of Liverpool to the City Ground is one they would dread considering how fired up the visitors are, but a look into the recent past should give them some confidence; Taiwo Awoniyi’s goal was enough to hand Forest a big win against Liverpool last season, and they can hope to do it again.

Liverpool will welcome Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai back into the fold, adding some experience to the buzzing youthfulness that landed the Carabao Cup last weekend. Mohammed Salah will not be available for the game, and Andy Robertson will face a late fitness test.

Liverpool currently sits on top of the log with one point advantage over Manchester City and two over Arsenal; a win is required here to keep the train moving, and any slip-up could be costly as this season’s title race promises to go down to the wire.

Forest needs the win to steer clear of the drop zone; they don’t want to be dragged into the murky waters of relegation. The trio of Ola Aina, Willy Boly, and Ibrahim Sangare are all in contention to play after returning from the AFCON with different shades of knocks.

The hosts have it in them to spring surprises; they have their way of stifling teams, but taking their own chances will also be key. Taiwo Awoniyi, Anthony Elanga, and Callum Hudson Odoi will be immense, but how will the Forest defense deal with Luis Diaz and the returning Nunez?
