You must ask yourself, how has Brentford been able to keep things together despite the personnel losses they suffered in the summer of 2025?

Brentford has faced numerous challenges, including losing their manager to Spurs, their captain to Arsenal, and their strikers to Al Ahli and Newcastle United, respectively, while also hiring someone whom the football world would refer to as a PE teacher, and narrowly missing out on Europe at the end of last season. Keith Andrews is a miracle worker.

Since Andrews's appointment at Brentford, Chelsea has appointed three managers. Liam Rosenior replaced Enzo Maresca, Stuart McFarlane replaced Rosenior, and Xabi Alonso became the substantive replacement for the interim Scot. That is instability at its peak.

To add to the uncertainty at Chelsea, club chairman Todd Boehly has announced he's stepping down from his role after selling his minority stake to The Clearlake Consortium. Are we going to see changes at Chelsea going forward?

Last season, the Bees tormented Chelsea badly. This fixture carries another dose of frustration, with Chelsea sweating on Joao Pedro's fitness. The Brazilian forward has been confirmed to miss Brazil's upcoming fixtures, with Chelsea saying he could be out for a month.

Chelsea labored to a 2-2 draw at home against Hull City last weekend. The Blues huffed and puffed and could have lost if not for their goalkeeper's heroics. What version of Chelsea will turn up at Brentford on Friday night?

Brentford starts this game in seventh place, only one point and one spot behind the Blues. A win for the Bees takes them to third on the log for the night. Brentford have yet to taste defeat this season, drawing three of their four games.

Xabi Alonso was critical of his side's chaotic defending last weekend, and he's hoping that his side can emulate Arsenal by winning 1-0 instead of conceding freely. His attack will be tested without Joao Pedro, but Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers have the potency to deliver.

Brentford must be wary of Chelsea's fast starts. The Blues have scored in the opening minutes of all four of their league games this season, but they have also conceded at least two goals in all their league games this season. Are we in for a treat again?
