It feels strange, but it is what it is. You watch football, a team sport, and wonder how things are between the players; is there a chance that we have teammates that don’t see each other eyeball to eyeball? Don’t be shocked; there are top teammates you know who are sworn enemies. Let’s look at a few of them.

  1. Wayne Bridge and John Terry

These ones need no introduction, but here’s the story in case you missed it: Wayne Bridge had an affair with Vanessa Perroncel, but after he left Chelsea, the affair went south, and John Terry swooped in. It didn’t go down well with the Manchester City man, and when Chelsea traveled to the Etihad, Bridge refused to shake Terry’s hands to date. The enmity continues.

  1. Kevin De Bruyne and Thibaut Courtois

This is a bit of a surprise because both players look chilled but make no mistakes. They’re enemies on and off the pitch. It all started during their time together at Chelsea. I bet you don’t remember they were once teammates, but a training ground bust-up led to a series of bouts, and both don’t talk to each other even on Belgium duties. Crazy, right?

  1. Gerrard Pique and Alvaro Arbeloa

You shouldn’t be surprised to hear that people on the opposite sides of the La Liga giants have deep issues, but yes, it’s a thing between Gerrard Pique of Barcelona and Alvaro Arbeloa of Real Madrid. It all started sometime in 2013 when Pique posted on Twitter that he believed Real Madrid got favors from referees. Arbeloa responded by posting pictures of referee decisions in favor of Barcelona, and both have been at each other’s throats to date.

  1. Kolo Toure and William Gallas

The duo of Kolo Toure and William Gallas don’t talk to each other, and with this discovery, you can understand why Arsenal conceded some goals they did in the era both played together for the club. It started when Gallas fell to the ground and had a meltdown after the Gunners conceded and dropped points against Birmingham. Toure felt the captain embarrassed the club, and both threw punches later. Toure asked to leave to avoid seeing the Frenchman.

  1. Karim Benzema and Mathiu Valbuena

This one is still in the works, considering how bad it currently is. It went to court at some points, and Karim Benzema was found guilty of being complicit in a blackmail case against Mathieu Valbuena after a sex tape involving the former Marseille man was released. Benzema was axed from the national team, and Valbuena hasn’t featured since 2015. You will never see the two in the same boat since then.
