Everything that has a beginning is poised to have an end; it’s been long coming but the day is done and the curtain is drawn on what can be called an inspiring life, Edson Arantes Nascimento, popularly known as Pele is dead.
The three-time World Cup winner passed away at the Albert Einstein hospital in Sau Paulo, Brazil on the 29th of December and will forever be remembered as one of the greatest to ever play the game, a torch bearer and an inspiration to many.
Pele battled colon cancer for a long time and eventually succumbed on Thursday after saying his goodbyes to his family members as well. Football greats from all quarters have been pouring their tributes to the legend of the game who will never be forgotten.
The debate about who the greatest of all time is can never be concluded without a mention of Pele who won the World Cup as a teenager and helped Brazil to three of their five World Cup trophies, scoring tons of goals on the way.
