Manchester United have announced the signing of their long-term coach, Erik Ten Haag. The Ajax manager signed a three-year contract with the Old Trafford side and will take over from Ralf Rangnick in the summer.

There had been speculations around the Old Trafford seat since Ole Gunnar Solksjaer left, with several names linked to the job, including ex-player Wayne Rooney and Luis Henrique, but Ten Haag has always been the fan’s favorite.

The signs are there that the German will overhaul the side and introduce a new culture; how long he has to implement his plans will be seen with time, but the optimism at the club since his announcement has been high, and fans cannot wait for the summer.

Manchester United will visit Arsenal this weekend with Cristiano Ronaldo back in the side after days off to mourn the loss of his son at birth. Both sides need to win the game to improve their respective top-four chances.
