Leicester City shocked Manchester City after winning the Community Shield at Wembley thanks to a late penalty from substitute Kelechi Iheanacho.
The match between last season's Premier League champions and FA Cup winners was tense at times and appeared to be going into penalties until Iheanacho scored from the spot after being tripped by Nathan Ake with a minute remaining.
On 65 minutes, City's record £100 million addition Jack Grealish made his debut, although he failed to make an impact for Pep's much-changed team.
Kasper Schmeichel brilliantly deflected an arrowed free-kick over the crossbar for Ilkay Gundogan, and the German midfielder also blasted over a first-time effort from 10 yards out.
For Leicester, striker Jamie Vardy was impressive, but he couldn't get past City goalkeeper Zack Steffen, who made a spectacular reaction save to deny the Englishman.
The community shield have now been won by FA Cup winners six times in the last seven years against Premier League winners.
While it is unlikely to have a huge impact on how the Premier League title battle unfolds this season, it is evident that Pep Guardiola's squad has work to do ahead of their Super Sunday opening against Tottenham.
Leicester, on the other hand, will go into their season opener against Wolves full of confidence after another Wembley victory.
