Ukraine to face England after victory over Sweden as Dovbyk scores last minute extra-time winner - Euro 2020
Ukraine advanced to their first EURO quarter-final as Artem Dovbyk scores his first international goal, the substitute scoring in the last seconds of extra time to beat ten-man Sweden at Hampden Park.
At Hampden Park, both teams started well, with Roman Yaremchuk's early shot being saved by Sweden goalkeeper Robin Olsen, while Alexander Isak curled a shot a metre wide.
In the 27th minute, Andriy Yarmolenko worked the ball onto his left foot and curled an exquisite pass on the outside of his boot for Oleksandr Zinchenko to drive a shot past Sweden goalkeeper Robin Olsen.
Sweden bounced back quickly after falling behind and were back on level terms two minutes before halftime.
Isak found Emil Forsberg just outside the box, and his well-placed shot was deflected past Georgiy Bushchan by Illia Zabarnyi.
Serhiy Sydorchuk's shot clipped the outside of the post in the second half, and seconds later, Isak played in Forsberg for a shot that also hit the post.
The Sweden midfielder then hit the crossbar with a shot, but the match went to extra time with neither side able to find a winner.
Sweden's Marcus Danielson was sent off for a challenge on Artem Besedin in the first half of extra time, and just as it appeared that the match was going into penalties, Ukraine picked up the pace.
A minute into added time, Zinchenko's perfect cross was headed in by Dovbyk, setting off loud celebrations.
