Jose Mourinho is eyeing the Arsenal job

Jose Mourinho is open to replacing Unai Emery at the Emirates if the job is vacant, according to ESPN FC sources.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery is currently under fire due to the struggling start to the season.

Though the Arsenal hierarchy are not considering sacking Emery. If that happens former Chelsea and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho would be available to negotiate terms with the Gooners.

Jose Mourinho as a Sky Sports pundit and he has openly said he is ready to return to football management.

The Portuguese manager has been linked with a move back to Real Madrid. But he is keen on staying in the Premier League rather than moving to another country.

Mourinho is currently living in London after he was sacked by Machester United about a year ago.

The 56-year old manager was at Arsenal's 3-2 win over Portuguese club Vitoria Guimaraes in the Europa League on Thursday at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are fifth on the Premier League table after 10 matches this season and are four points off the top four.

Unai Emery is under pressure following a poor run of one win in four Premier League matches, including last Sunday's 2-2 draw at home to city rivals Crystal Palace where they squandered a 2-0 lead.
