Senegal beat Benin 1-0 with a goal made in Merseyside.

Everton midfielder Gueye played a pass to Liverpool's Sadio Mane who went past two players before setting up Gueye to score in Cairo.

Sadio Mane had two goals disallowed thanks to the video assistant referee system which was introduced from the quarterfinal stage.

Benin are still without a win in normal time at the African Cup of Nations.

The squirrels finished the match with ten men as Olivier Verdon was sent off after a foul to stop Gueye who was through on goal.
