It feels a lot like a weird news day in the transfer window. Who would have thought that spent players like Jordan Henderson and Danny Welbeck would both find a new home with a club like Chelsea?

Now, this is where it gets interesting; Chelsea does need experience in their ranks. Those red cards and disorganization in the team last season could be put down to a lack of a calm head in the dressing room, but we ask again: are we talking about Henderson and Welbeck?

No disrespect to the two top professionals. Welbeck has distinguished himself from his days at Manchester United. His years at Arsenal remain fondly talked about by Arsenal fans, but as he's approaching his 36th year, is he the right man for the Blues?

Jordan Henderson left Liverpool as a hero. The England midfielder went to Saudi Arabia; it didn't quite excite him, and he left for Ajax. From the Dutch club, Henderson went to Brentford, where he did what Chelsea would expect of him: stabilize things.

For Welbeck, Fabian Hurzelar has been quite vocal about how great he is as a player. Maybe he will help Chelsea keep things together in the dressing room, but why is the former Arsenal man leaving European football for a once-a-week affair with the Blues?

Not to sound like a broken record, we're expecting the duo of Brentford and Brighton to pick up young talents from Chelsea for inflated fees. You can tell that it's the M.O. Some call it balancing the books; we call it Chelsea's art of beating FFP. Not everyone enjoys 115 charges on their backs.

Away from Chelsea's shenanigans, it's emerging that Liverpool has now decided to spend money on their defensive issues. Guess their pick? 28-year-old Ezri Konsa, and to make this potential transfer more interesting, Villa will ask for up to €60m for their player. Will Liverpool pay that much for a player of that age?

Liverpool had the chance to bring Marc Guehi to the carpet; instead, they spent the whole of last summer chasing Alexander Isak. When you fail to do the right thing, you live with the consequences of your wrong decisions.

To complete the strange news day, Juventus has agreed to a fee of €45m with PSG for Randall Kolo Muani. The Frenchman has had a torrid time at Tottenham; it makes you wonder what excites the Old Lady about the striker.
