The World Cup is over, but we won't hear the end of actions from the tournament anytime soon with news breaking out of Argentina that the AFA is considering legal actions against the campaign of calumny against the country at the just-concluded World Cup.

Investigations are ongoing into allegations that certain individuals or organisations funded a campaign to portray the Argentine national team negatively. The AFA legal team are collecting evidence, posts, and other material for their case.

It's important to note that many of the Argentina players resorted to violence after the final whistle against Spain. Some of the Argentine players were seen throwing punches and dragging Spanish players to the turf.

There are also facts of officiating irregularities in games involving Argentina. You can't deny some calls against Egypt that helped Argentina overcome a 2-0 deficit to win the game 3-2. Argentina also committed the most fouls at the tournament and received the fewest bookings.

Let's go to transfers, shall we?

Alejandro Garnacho is on his way to Aston Villa from Chelsea after the Blues told the player's camp he can leave. Villa sold Morgan Rogers to Chelsea, and the Blues are repaying the good deed by allowing the former Manchester United winger to join Villa.

Inter Milan is closing in on Tottenham captain Cristian Romero, with face-to-face talks now ongoing between the two camps. Spurs already added Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson, and Jan Paul Van Hecke from Brighton. Romero is expected to join Inter Milan imminently.

Former Netherlands and Barcelona midfielder Mark Van Bommel has been named the new Belgium head coach following the departure of Rudi Garcia. Belgium fell to Spain at the quarter-finals of the World Cup. Van Bommel will be expected to lead the Red Devils to the next World Cup.

In a shocking development, Al Hilal and West Ham agreed on a £55m fixed fee plus £10m add-ons for Crysencio Summerville. The Dutchman hasn't accepted the offer, with AS Roma also keen on the winger. It will be quite strange to see this move happen.

To close the conversation today, Anthony Taylor has stepped down from his role as a Premier League referee, bringing an end to a career that saw him officiate at the highest levels. From the World Cup, to the Euros, and Champions League finals, Taylor will be fondly remembered for his proactiveness that saved Christian Eriksen when he collapsed in a European competition game against Finland in 2021.
