This is where Arsenal's hold on the Premier League falls off. By the time this fixture is done, the Gunners will no longer be on top of the log. A new sheriff is here.

Absolute statements are quite risky in football, but is there a universe in which Manchester City doesn't beat Burnley on Wednesday night? Is there a chance the Cityzens will miss a golden opportunity to go to the top? Only Arsenal fans would nurse such hope.

The Premier League is winding down to a sensational climax. The race for Champions League football next season took an unexpected turn on Tuesday night as Chelsea slumped to yet another defeat. The Blues lost 3-0 at Brighton, their fifth straight loss without scoring.

This means the likes of Everton, Brentford, Brighton, and Bournemouth can all dream of finishing in 6th place, which might be enough for Champions League qualification. If Aston Villa or Nottingham Forest wins the Europa League, the 6th spot becomes a gem.

Back to the game at hand. Burnley is set to return to the Championship alongside Wolves. The relegation six-pointer of last weekend explains why Burnley is not expected to ruffle feathers at Turf Moor on Wednesday.

There's an air of eventuality to this game. While Manchester City is primed to land their fifth title in six years, their seventh in nine seasons, Burnley is set for another relegation upon their return to the top flight.

What do we expect to see on Wednesday night? There are a few niggles in the Manchester City squad. Nico Gonzalez is likely to step in for Rodri; the Spanish midfield maestro picked up something in the Arsenal win. Guardiola is not expected to take chances.

Manchester City will approach this one with calm. We've seen surprises this season, but this one is not likely to be one of them. Burnley will play without pressure, knowing that their journey to the Championship League continues with this fixture.

Scott Parker's side will be relegated mathematically if they lose to Manchester City, but is there anything they can do about it? Burnley will have only 12 points to fight for after the visit of Manchester City, as the Cityzens march to the title and Burnley sinks into despair.

Erling Haaland, Rayan Cherki, and Antoine Semenyo will hope for a thrilling night at Turf Moor. Arsenal will be watching, Burnley fans will hope, but football, in its cruel nature, doesn't forgive.

Verdict: City to hammer Burnley
