Just when the title race seems to be bending their way, the old doubts start creeping back in. It has happened too many times in the past; it is a familiar feeling every Arsenal fan can relate to. Are they about to throw it away again?

In the 2022/2023 season, where Arsenal blew everyone out of the water early, it was put down to the fact that most teams underrated the Gunners.

They fell short at the tail end, losing out to Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League and then dropping points for fun in the league with few matches to go.

The following season saw Arsenal take it a notch higher. They chased Manchester City down to the last day. of the title race, losing the league by two points. At that point, it felt like the next season was theirs for the taking.

Manchester City lost color in the 2024/2025 season; the Cityzens lost five consecutive league games, and you thought it was Arsenal's time.

Then rose Liverpool, from the heartbreak of Jurgen Klopp's exit; injuries depleted Arsenal, and they had to focus on the Champions League.

Once again, Arsenal fell short after the highs of victory over Real Madrid as they slumped to defeats against PSG over two legs.

A third straight second-place finish led Arsenal to a powerful trolley dash in the transfer window.

They knew they needed a striker; they got one who was the highest scorer in Europe.

They needed a Thomas Partey replacement; they got Martin Zubimendi.

They needed backups in defence and on the flanks; in came Christian Mosquera, Piero Hincapie, and Noni Madueke.

As always, Arsenal has led the league for most of the season.

Talks of their style of play and reliance on set pieces have overshadowed their success so far, but it would be a shame if they end up with nothing again.

How did Arsenal conspire to lose the cup final to Manchester City when they were the clear favorite?

How did Arsenal end up on the losing end in their quarter-final clash against Southampton at St. Mary's on Saturday?

Sporting Lisbon lies in wait in midweek, and Bournemouth is visiting the Emirates at the weekend. Arsenal needs about four wins to win the league.

The next three games, including the home game against Sporting next week, will define Arsenal's season. Will they throw it away again?
