The Premier League title race will go down to the wire with Arsenal and Manchester City pushing each other until the very end.

Arsenal's 1-0 win over Newcastle at the weekend returned the Gunners to the summit of the Premier League table, but Manchester City has a game in hand against Crystal Palace.

Is this the closest title race in recent times?

Make no mistakes; this was Arsenal's title to lose until recently, when the Gunners started floundering. You can't make this up for Arsenal.

If Mikel Arteta and Arsenal fail to land this title, they will only have the men in the mirror to blame.

The home loss to Bournemouth and the away loss at the Etihad took the advantage away from the Gunners.

They also needed goals against Newcastle, but in the end, they were lucky to get away with the 1-0 win, as seen in the players' reactions after the game.

In other news, Manchester United strengthened their hold on the third spot with a 2-1 win over Brentford at Old Trafford on Monday.

The Red Devils are 11 points ahead of Brighton in 6th spot.

With 12 points to fight for, one more point should be enough to see United back in the Champions League next season.

Liverpool and Aston Villa also look set to wrap up the Champions League qualification conversation.

With 8 points between those two and Brighton, the chasing pack will hope that Villa wins the Europa League to free up one more space for UCL qualification.

It won't be the first time the Premier League has had 6 teams in the Champions League.

Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle, and Spurs all made it to the current campaign following the latter's Europa League triumph.

At least five teams are waiting in the wings to usurp whoever is in front of them in the race for Champions League football.

The final four fixtures will be keenly contested, with a small matter of relegation also on the table.

It looks like a straight shootout between Spurs and West Ham.

Forest and Leeds United are in the mix, but with the latter facing Burnley at Elland Road this weekend, you have a sense of freedom for Leeds.

Forest did a huge number on Sunderland to gain an advantage. Should Newcastle be worried?
