Pep Guardiola, for the umpteenth time, proved to the world that he's the master of the game after a 2-1 success over Arsenal at the Etihad on Sunday.

The result leaves Manchester City only three points behind the Gunners on the log, with a game in hand against Burnley at Turf Moor on Wednesday. It's now a matter of when, not if the Cityzens will topple Arsenal on the league table.

Arsenal has led the log since September, going as much as nine points clear after City at some points in March. It's incredibly special to see that the advantage now sits with Manchester City, but where did it go wrong for the Gunners?

Arsenal played quite well on Sunday; the Gunners had quality chances that they didn't take. Kai Havertz had the goal gapping, and Ebere Eze struck the underside of the woodwork; can we nail it on Mother Luck?

David Raya nearly handed the Cityzens an early lead when his poor control nearly got Erling Haaland in. City took the deserved lead through Rayan Cherki. The French playmaker danced around the Arsenal defense to slot past Raya in goal.

The lead lasted less than a minute. Gigi Donnarumma was caught on the ball by Kai Havertz as the Italian goalkeeper turned an easy clearance to Arsenal's leveller. The half went end-to-end until the very end.

City's winner came midway through the second half. Haaland pounced in the Arsenal area with the Gunners' defenders caught napping. The 2-1 result means a win over Burnley on Wednesday will see City topple Arsenal on goal difference.

Elsewhere, the race for Champions League football is heating up. Aston Villa won for the first time in a while with a solid one over Sunderland, while United beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge to strengthen its hold on the third spot.

Liverpool moved four clear of Chelsea with a solid 2-1 win over Everton in the derby. At the tail end, Tottenham's case is getting worse. With no wins this year, Spurs are now in danger of relegation. Will Roberto Di Zerbi pull off a miracle with Tottenham?
