PSG and Bayern Munich served us pure football on Tuesday. It was end-to-end from start to finish; is anyone expecting the same effect from the Wednesday game?

PSG has some leverage in Ligue 1. The entire league agrees to postpone games for the champions to allow them to prepare for Champions League football. This makes it easier to manage minutes and rest better.

Bayern Munich plays in a seemingly easier league. No disrespect, there's a reason German teams hardly impress in Europe. You must appreciate the good football we saw on Tuesday night, but can we experience the same on Wednesday?

You know what to expect when PSG travels to the Allianz Arena next week. What do we expect when Arsenal visits Atletico Madrid on Wednesday? Mikel Arteta against Diego Simeone: two defensively minded coaches. Box office or front row torture?

Arsenal is still alive in the Premier League title race. The Gunners beat Newcastle 1-0 at the weekend to leapfrog Manchester City, albeit after playing one more game than the Cityzens. You can't say the same about their Spanish opponents.

Atletico Madrid is no longer in the title race in Spain. It's literally impossible for Atletico to miss out on Champions League qualification next season. Atletico rested their entire first eleven against Barcelona in the previous round; they did almost the same ahead of this fixture.

What does that mean for this game? Arsenal players were visibly drained after the Newcastle game as they had to run until the end of the game. Is that an advantage to Atletico? If Arsenal wants to win something they've never done before, they must be brave now.

The experience of Antoine Griezmann, the trickery of Ademola Lookman, and the quality of Julian Alvarez will come in handy in this game. Arsenal must be patient to earn a result from this game. This might mean a hell of what is now termed "haramball."

Bukayo Saka is back and available. The Gunners avoided another serious injury to Eberechi Eze, and Gabriel Martinelli trained on Tuesday. Don't expect a box office on Wednesday. It will be more torture and a narrow result.
