Wolves beat Aston Villa at the Molineux; Wolves took two points off the log leaders, Arsenal, at the Molineux Stadium. Should the reigning champions be worried?

Liverpool has a great chance to move up to third on the log on Tuesday night. The champions are the only team in the top five equation that is playing on Tuesday. Their fate is in their hands, and with a win over Wolves, they will climb above Villa and Manchester United, albeit temporarily.

We can conclude that the title race is now between Arsenal and Manchester City, with the Gunners holding a five-point advantage over the Cityzens, having played one more game. The case we have to resolve now is the quest for Champions League football next season.

This game would have had a bearing on the relegation conversation, but Wolves FC is as good as relegated. However, Rob Edwards is not going to lie down to be trampled on by strangers on his own porch.

Arne Slot has been vocal in the media about set pieces in the Premier League. It's ironic, considering Liverpool scored four goals from set pieces against West Ham at the weekend. Choose a side, Mr. Slot.

Wolves will set up to enjoy the game as they did against the Gunners and Aston Villa. The goal is to give their fans something to cheer, something to celebrate in the midst of the storm that is set to send them back to the Championship.

For Liverpool, there's so much to fight for. Their title defense ended unceremoniously; however, returning to the Champions League next season is something they cannot discount. They need to align their purpose from now on. They must win this one.

How will Liverpool line up? Florian Wirtz is unavailable; you expect Slot to stick to the same side that did a great job at Anfield against the Hammers. The ask is for Liverpool to win; it might not be pretty, but you will have to trust them to get the job done.

Wolves enjoyed the freedom of doom against Villa. They're no longer pressured. They probably know it's too little too late, and that must be something Liverpool will be wary of. It's tough to challenge a team that is fighting for nothing.

Will Mohammed Salah finally step up, or will Hugo Ekitike lead the Kops to greatness again? Cody Gakpo is another player to watch out for. This one is primed for Liverpool to win; they cannot pass on it.

Verdict: Liverpool to win.
