It’s been a fast and furious January with lots of football, from the just-concluded Africa Cup of Nations to interesting results in the Premier League, including Manchester United’s new manager bounce as well as the buzzing transfer window.

Champions League football returns on Tuesday, and that leads us to some talking points. Sticking to transfer news, who are the people moving? Who are the people who must win or be moved? And what are those deals we anticipate before the end of the January window? Here you go!

Is Thomas Frank smoking his last cigarette?

Word on the street is that Tottenham Hotspur will boot out Thomas Frank if his team doesn’t beat Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday in the Champions League.

Following a poor run of form in the league, where they have struggled badly to win at home, the Spurs hierarchy is set to make a change in the dugout should Spurs fail to win in front of the Tottenham Stadium fans. Thomas Frank has only 11 first-team players to call on; is his fate sealed?

Does Marc Guehi solve City’s defensive woes?

Manchester City has landed their man after Crystal Palace sold Marc Guehi to the Cityzens. With Jovsko Gvardiol, John Stones and Ruben Dias all out injured, does Guehi answer to the defensive crisis?

Manchester City have failed to win any of their last four games, drawing three and losing at Old Trafford to Manchester United; this has set them back in their title chase. Does the arrival of the Palace man solve their immediate issues?

Does Glasner want to be sacked?

It feels like managers who want to be sacked have found a way to do it. By going to the press to throw their employers under the bus, thereby getting them the sack.

Nuno Espirito Santo, Ruben Amorim and Enzo Maresca have all gone through this route with the same result showing up. Is Oliver Glasner asking for the sack too? The Palace manager is furious that the club sold Guehi; he won’t commit to the future, but does he want to leave earlier than the summer?
