Transfer News: Liverpool going hard in the market, Chelsea to sign new striker?

With the transfer window back open, teams are scraping the whole length of the world for players to improve their respective squads. Who are the ones moving today?

Liverpool eyes Isak after Wirtz signing.

Liverpool could well be the title favourite for the upcoming season in the Premier League, with Newcastle’s Alexander Isak the next player who could join the champions this summer.

The Reds secured the signing of Florian Wirtz on Friday and are expected to follow that up with Milos Kerkez of Bournemouth. Reports from Merseyside insist Arne Slot wants Alexander Isak upfront; it could be complicated, but should it happen, it ultimately plants Liverpool as title favourites next season.

Chelsea is keen on new forwards.

Not a lot of names have been thrown into the mix, but Chelsea will sign a couple of new forwards after the Club World Cup.

The indiscretions of Nicolas Jackson have hastened things a bit, and despite only buying Liam Delap recently, Chelsea will add new forwards to their ranks with Jadon Sancho back at Manchester United and Mykhailo Mudryk suspended for doping.

Antony favours Betis return over Como interests

Brazilian winger Antony is attracting interest from Cesc Fabregas’ Como, with the Italian side offering him a contract, but the Manchester United winger would rather a return to Real Betis.

After a torrid time at Old Trafford, Antony found a new lease of life at Real Betis and would not trade that for anything; the Brazilian helped Betis to the final of the Europa Conference League and would hope United agrees with Betis for his return to Spain.

Zubimendi in, Partey out?

Martin Zubimendi has signed his Arsenal contracts and will join permanently for a fee of €65m due to Arsenal’s instalment payment plan; however, they could be losing Thomas Partey this summer.

The Ghana star wants a new challenge and has been unable to agree on extension terms with the Gunners. Feelers are that the midfield general wants improved pay, as this represents his last important contract at 32 years of age, but the Gunners think his current wage is fair enough for him.

Bayer Leverkusen agree deal for Liverpool’s Quansah.

Liverpool are prepared to lose their young defender Jarrel Quansah after Bayer Leverkusen agree a deal to sign him for a fee of £35m, and he’s expected to replace the departed Jonathan Tah.

Quansah was part of the title-winning Liverpool side, contributing from centre-back and right-back positions, but with the Reds eyeing Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi, his playing time will be considerably reduced, and a move away makes sense.
