It’s a long weekend of Premier League football, and it started quite earlier than usual with a rescheduled game between Forest and Brentford; it feels like December again as we get to witness fixtures every day of the week.

Manchester City has just one job on the league front, which is to finish within the top five. It is possible; as things stand, the Cityzens can move up to third with a win here, as they currently sit in fourth spot; a slip in this fixture could put them into trouble.

Wolves, rising from the ashes of their early season form which saw the club dismiss manager Gary O’Neil, have been a different club since hiring Vitor Pereira. They’re not only safe from relegation, they’re also pushing for an unlikely top ten finish.

Wolves have now won six straight games, defeating teams like Manchester United, Tottenham, and West Ham while maintaining three clean sheets; it's also crucial to note that they have accomplished this feat three times away from home.

For Manchester City, they’re in that customary end of the season mood, leaving things late but eventually grabbing the win like they did against Aston Villa. They might need to do their business early in this one; Wolves isn’t a team to joke with if recent results are anything to go by.

Kevin De Bruyne is in the twilight of his Manchester City career; the big Belgian is leaving the club at the end of the season, and you wonder if he’ll get to start every game left as Pep Guardiola gives the Etihad crowd a glimpse of the man who changed their fortunes for good.

Another player who could have his stamp on this game is Omar Marmoush; with Erling Haaland still healing from his injury, the Egyptian speed star is expected to lead the line. While he wasn’t among the goals last time out, you expect him to hit a new gear as City hopes to wrap up the top five conversations.

For Wolves, Matheus Cunha is the man to beat. The Brazilian has been in the spotlight of late, with a move to Manchester United being discussed; however, his goal and two assists last weekend would ring in Manchester City’s mind. They must stop him.

Guardiola must go for this one from the start; he needs his boys to do the job early before entering game management mode. Should Wolves hit first, it will be a long evening for the champions; they dare not risk that.

Verdict: City to win.
