Manchester United can afford to field a full-strength team on Sunday, as they have planted one foot in the final of the Europa League after a dominant performance in Spain.

The Red Devils enjoyed a memorable night at Bilbao, where they won 3-0 courtesy of Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes; United now only needs to manage the second leg at Old Trafford on Thursday, ensuring no one gets sent off or gets a booking that would rule them out of the final.

Brentford are on a roll; their 2-0 win at Forest on Thursday is a testament to their growth, and should they beat United at the G-Tech Community Stadium on Sunday, they could be knocking on a potential European spot. That would be massive for them.

Not many saw the result at Forest coming, with the latter aiming for Champions League football; however, Thomas Frank led the boys to a professional performance, which has now opened up the possibility of playing in Europe next season.

Ruben Amorim has stated clearly that he would rotate his squad ahead of the second leg of the semifinal clash with Athletic Bilbao. This means we could see a starting role for the likes of Mason Mount and Luke Shaw.

United needs Champions League football to be able to attract stars in the summer; the Red Devils are anticipating a summer clearance which would be the foundation of Amorim’s structure, with more than half of the current setup up for sale.

For Brentford, they have just one job: to keep things simple and clinically dispatch the Red Devils, who don’t have much interest in this fixture. The Bees must not take things for granted; it is their game to lose on the evidence of United’s body language.

Bryan Mbeumo and Yoan Wissa are the men to watch for the Bees; the latter has scored in their last four games, and he could be immense for the hosts on Sunday as he picks pockets in the box like a fox, powered by the left foot of the Cameroonian Mbeumo.

Kevin Schade is another player to watch out for; the youngster opened scoring against Forest and knows how to move in the box. United will once again rely on the brilliance of Fernandes and the unpredictability of their attackers. This should be fun to watch.

Verdict: Brentford to win
