As league football takes the back seat this weekend for international games to take center stage, we take a look at what a few teams must do to finish stronger in the English Premier League.

Liverpool – One step closer:

The Reds appear to be losing steam at the wrong end of the season; however, they have done the hardest part in the past and only need five more wins from their remaining nine games, provided Arsenal wins their remaining nine games too.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez are unavailable, and the former might not play again this season; however, the Reds should be able to cope without him. The real headache is in the midfield, where their options seem to have burnt out; they must keep things together to avoid a disastrous slip.

Arsenal – 10% chance, 90% faith:

Arsenal's chances of winning the league remain as low and insignificant as they can imagine; however, they would remain defiant, but it's Liverpool's title to lose.

Arsenal must win all their remaining games, including the one at Anfield, and hope Liverpool doesn't win more than 3 out of their remaining nine games. Arsenal must sort out their goalscoring issues, but with Bukayo Saka coming back soon, they might have hope.

Chelsea – Aiming for the fifth spot:

After losing to Arsenal in the manner they did last weekend, Chelsea must have settled for their plan B, which is to win the Europa Conference League and finish in fifth spot in the Premier League, which could be enough for UCL football next season.

The Blues need some of their injured players back and Cole Palmer to return to form. They continue to struggle with creativity, and they must start shopping for a goalkeeper; they're lacking in that department, and it's obvious.

Newcastle United – One down, one to go:

The Geordies are still celebrating their cup success; several decades of pain have evolved into days of joy and happiness. They're the latest to win a trophy in England, and that remains a fact until the end of May.

Newcastle is still in the running for Champions League qualification, and all they need to do is finish fifth. It is possible, and they won't sleep on it; they must keep the ship afloat. That is the only way to keep Alexander Isak.
