Manchester City’s horrible season could get a huge lift if they somehow find a way to send Real Madrid packing from the Champions League on Wednesday.

Let’s face it, not many would expect the current Manchester City side to go to Real Madrid and earn a result;; however, there are gaps in the reigning champions’ camp that the Cityzens can exploit. The question is,, can they?

Tuesday's's results in the Champions League left too many shocks on observers,, with AC Milan bowing out in the hands of Feyenoord— of the teams thatt forced Manchester City to the playoffs—and Benfica fightingng late to see out Monaco in a pulsating 3-3 draw.

Celtic was on the brink of shocking former champions Bayern Munich,, but a last-gasp instinctive strike from Alphonso Davies levelledd matters on the night, thrusting daggers in the hearts of the travellingg Scottish fans,, butBayern must be better in the next round.

The final game of the night saw Atalanta lose 3-1 at home to lose both legs 5-2 on aggregate; not many saw that coming after the draws. The biggest news from the game was Gasperini’s outburst at Ademola Lookman for missing a penalty; it’s noteworthy that the Nigerian gave their attack a bite when he came on.

Back to the games of Wednesday night, Erling Haaland’s brace was not enough at the Etihad; Pep Guardiola must understand that his side has it all to do; he can’t overthink this one; while he has nothing to lose, he has everything to fight for.

Manchester City will not win the Premier League; the FA Cup might represent their only hope of silverwarehis season,, however, by their own standards, that won’t suffice,, sohe must give it everything he has in the Champions League,, butcan he dump out Real Madrid?

Borussia Dortmund can afford to ease up a bit against Sporting Lisbon; the Portuguese side hasn’t been the same since Ruben Amorim left;; however, they will play for pride at the Signal Iduna Park, and and Dortmund must keep an eye on them.

PSG is in the same boat; they walloped Stade Brest in the first leg 3-0. All they have to do is show up, manage the game, and advance; they’re likely to have a stiffer test in the round of 16; they can start preparing for that.

The big question is, can the new Juventus beat PSV again and advance? The days of silly draws are over, and Juventus has started winning tough games. Can they see off the Dutch side in Turin on Wednesday? Time will tell.
