The magic of the FA Cup struck at the G-Tech Stadium on Saturday with struggling Championship side Plymouth Argyle beating Brentford 1-0 to advance to the fourth round.

Thomas Frank must be heartbroken after witnessing his team's inability to convert their overwhelming dominance into victory in front of their home crowd. The FA Cup is level, and while superior quality tells more often than not, you can’t underestimate games in this competition; ask Brentford.

Manchester City easily defeated non-league Salford with eight goals, while Chelsea and Liverpool patiently withstood their opponents' attacks. The Blues had to wait against Morecambe, but the League 2 side eventually succumbed to a 5-0 defeat despite seeing Chris Nkunku’s penalty saved.

Liverpool beat Accrington Stanley 4-0, thanks to Trent Alexander Arnold’s inspired leadership, and the likes of Leicester, Forest, Bournemouth, and Brighton all advanced with comfortable wins, but Wolves had to sweat for their 4th round ticket against Bristol City.

Arsenal and Manchester United will battle at the Emirates on Sunday, both teams in need of results to boost confidence and enhance momentum. The Gunners suffered a shock 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup, while United haven’t won a single game in their last five.

Arsenal is the record holder of the FA Cup with fourteen titles, with Manchester United right behind them in second. It’s a game both sides would go hard for, and it’s the first of a doubleheader between them this month.

Manchester United still can’t find a place in their squad for Marcus Rashford, but Amad Diallo has signed a new deal that runs until 2030. The young player has been a standout in the United squad this season, demonstrating his commitment to the team.

After the 2-0 loss to Newcastle, Mikel Arteta is now under pressure to find results to appease the hurting fans; he can sense the need to win a trophy after five years of process at the club; this is time for him to stop talking and start doing.

On Sunday, Newcastle is expected to easily defeat Bromley, a non-league team. Will they rest Alexander Isak, who led Arsenal's attack in midweek?

Tottenham is also in need of a victory, having accomplished the remarkable feat of defeating Liverpool 1-0 in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semifinals in midweek. Beating Tamworth will help with momentum, especially with their depleted squad ahead of the fixture against Arsenal in midweek.
