Manchester City hit a new low on Sunday as Ruben Amorim became the first Manchester United manager to win his first Manchester Derby since Sir Alex Ferguson.

Every single manager after the great Scott failed to get the better of Manchester City in their first Manchester derby, with David Moyes, Louis Van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, Ralf Rangnick, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, and Ten Hag all failing to win.

Amorim made a huge statement with his starting eleven, handling Harry Maguire's starting role and dropping the duo of Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho completely from the matchday squad due to what many believed to be disciplinary issues.

In the first half, the hosts dominated but failed to threaten Andre Onana's goal. However, midway into the half, United's weaknesses resurfaced as they conceded another headed goal, their fourth under Amorim and their eighth of the season; only Wolves have conceded more.

United did not provide much in the City's final third. In fact, Manchester United did not have a single shot on target in the first half, and their striker, Rasmus Hojlund, did not make a single touch in the City penalty box throughout.

The second half was a lot better for the visitors; Bruno Fernandes got on the ball more, and Amad Traore troubled City on the break. It paid off for the visitors later in the game when Mattheus Nunes hacked down Amad in the City area and referee Anthony Taylor pointed to the spot for Fernandes to fire home the leveller.

Less than two minutes later, United went ahead. Once again, Amad maneuvered around Nunes and skillfully side-footed past Ederson, leaving him in a vulnerable position. It was United's first win over a top-six side for the first time in three years and their first win at the Etihad for United in four seasons.

"I'm the boss, I'm the manager, and I'm not good enough," Guardiola said. "I have to find a solution; it's as simple as that. The truth is that I'm not performing well.

"It is what it is. What can I say? We cannot place the blame on any particular player; it's not their fault. It's the season—a tough one.

"We didn't play our best. We are not performing at our peak, and we are experiencing some difficulties. This is 8 in 11 now; it is not normal; something is not right.

"It's getting worse and worse. I have to find the solution. So far I didn't find it."
