The English FA has announced the signing of German tactician Thomas Tuchel as their new head coach following the resignation of Gareth Southgate in the summer.

Interim manager Lee Carsely has managed four games so far, and he’s expected to be in charge of the November games. But his unconvincing demeanor led to a wider search for a substantive manager, and the former Chelsea man will resume on the 1st of January.

Tuchel fielded questions from frustrated British media on Wednesday as they were more concerned about his nationality than his expertise. You must wonder how quickly these people change their opinions, considering that they were supporting Pep Guardiola as recently as the previous weekend.

Tuchel won two Ligue 1 titles with PSG, the Champions League with Chelsea, and the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich; he brings to the table his winning credentials, and you wonder what naysayers are on about.

The quest for English managers must mean these lots don’t want the best for their nation; Graham Potter was clamored for on the back of his Chelsea career; is he worthy? Some want Eddie Howe, but is Newcastle prepared to part ways with him? So, who would they rather have? Gary Neville?

Despite the negativity of many pundits in the media, Tuchel has remained optimistic about his chances. He believes he can win the World Cup with England, even though he only has one major tournament left to impress and win something, given his contract is only for 18 months.

Tuchel responded, "I don't know; it depends," to the question of whether he's under pressure to win quickly. I know what you're saying. No, it's not a gamble, but we have made it very clear why we are here and what we want to achieve.

"We are not shy of it. We are absolutely open about it. The more often we discuss it, the less effective it is. However, it is important to establish clear standards, values, and principles, as we must adhere to them for the next 18 months.

"Let's evaluate it once we've completed it." If we decide it was a failure, then we will not continue. If we decide it was not a failure, then we will continue. Let's see. No one can predict the future.

"It feels absolutely right for me to do so; it feels clear, and it feels simple for me to explain. When something is easy to explain, it's usually a good sign.

"We are collaborating with players from the top league and the world's largest competition." We have a group of young, hungry players. We are desperate to win a title, and since we have all the necessary ingredients, I believe we should try incorporating this into our style of play.

"I think we should play an attacking style of football, and we should try to emphasize the physical side of the game because this is what English football is all about, this is what excites our supporters, and this is what suits the players."
