International games are well underway across continents; we look at some buzzing football news ranging from England’s historic loss to Greece to Nigeria’s home game against Libya.

Is the England job too big for Carsley?

Interim England boss Lee Carsley fielded an all-attacking side against Greece on Thursday in their UEFA Nations League clash, but the experiment failed woefully, handing the 3Lions their first loss against Greece and their third at Wembley this year.

Carsley started Phil Foden, Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka, Cole Palmer, and Anthony Gordon, leaving Declan Rice as the only defensive-minded player in the middle. The Greeks will celebrate the win as a tribute to George Baldock, who passed on Wednesday, but is the England job too big for Lee Carsley?

United's Mazraoui is out due to heart problems.

Erik Ten Hag and Manchester United are facing further setbacks, as right back Nasir Mazraoui's heart issue will prevent him from playing for several weeks.

The former Bayern Munich defender was substituted at halftime against Aston Villa and has since undergone a procedure, which means he will miss a number of games. Is there any respite for the Red Devils and Ten Hag?

Boniface must take his Super Eagles’ chance now.

In the absence of Victor Osimhen, Bayern Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface must seize the opportunity to lead the line against Libya at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Friday.

Despite his impressive performance in age-grade games for the country, Boniface has yet to make a significant impact for the senior team. He has also excelled for the German champions this season, scoring freely in the league and in the Champions League, but he needs to replicate this form at home.

Pellegrini Red stunts Italy against Belgium.

While Vangelis Pavlidis was busy tearing England apart, Lorenzo Pellegrini got a first-half red card, which badly affected Italy’s structure in the 2-2 draw against Belgium in their Nations League encounter.

Domenico Tedesco's team failed to impress, falling behind by two goals in the first half hour. However, Pellegrini's intervention brought them back into the game, with Arsenal's Leandro Trossard among the scorers, resulting in a 2-2 draw.

Brazil leaves it late to record an important win.

Luiz Henrique’s 89th-minute strike helped a poor Brazil side past Chile in a must-win World Cup qualifier earlier on Friday, with many now worried for a Brazil side that had lost four of their last five qualifiers going into the game at Chile.

Eduardo Vargas put the home side in front, but Jorge Jesus headed home the equalizer in added time of the first half; Brazil played better in the second half and got a deserved lead when Henrique curled in the winner late on, pushing the Selecao to fourth on the log but eight points behind Argentina.
