It’s the weekend, the Premier League is back, and interesting fixtures await us across ten grounds. How would managers approach games with players flying in from different continents after a grueling international break?

The biggest one is at Tottenham, where Arsenal is visiting. The home side must be licking their lips at the prospect of hosting the Gunners without Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard. Derby days have no respect for form or pedigree, but Arsenal would wish for a fitter squad going into this one.

Manchester United must beat Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium, but they must go through a team that has lost three straight games on the bounce since their return to the top flight. Erik Ten Hag is under immense pressure after recent results, as is Russell Martin; watch out for this one.

Brighton would feel they should have earned more at Arsenal after the Gunners went down to ten men, while Ipswich Town would celebrate their precious point against Fulham. The two sides have what it takes to make this an intriguing one at the Amex.

Palace and Leicester City have identical fortunes this season. The Foxes suffered two losses and forced Tottenham to a draw on the opening day, while Palace, who secured their first point away at Chelsea last time, would view this as a great opportunity for their first win.

Fulham hosts West Ham in another London derby this weekend. There’s pressure on Julien Lopetegui to deliver after the huge investment in the Hammers squad, while Marco Silva has also spent incredibly this summer at Fulham; this one has stalemate written all over it.

Nottingham Forest will visit Anfield on Saturday, continuing Liverpool's impressive start to the season. Based on their last result at Old Trafford, the visitors will bank on pace and grit, but will they have enough to stop the Kops?

Aston Villa vs. Everton is one to relish. Sleek against stubborn all over again. It’s been a horrendous start for the Toffees; they played three, lost three, and the manner of the last loss from a strong position late on explains why Sean Dyche is in dire need of a result, but can he stop Unai Emery’s lads?

Bournemouth is flying at the moment. After trailing by two goals until five minutes left on the clock, they beat Everton 3-2. Chelsea has loads of points to prove; they’re in a phase where they must be patient, but they cannot afford to drop points at the Vitality Stadium.

On Saturday, the Champions host Brentford, a team that comes with banana peels, but no one expects anything less than a solid home win. When Ivan Toney joins the Bees, will Bryan Mbeumo and Yoan Wissa take over?

Wolves and Newcastle wrap up the weekend. The potential in the home side has yet to blossom, while Newcastle continues to pick up points here and there. Expect a high-octane game at the Molineux on Sunday; let the weekend begin!
