Whatever it is that Mikel Arteta and Arsenal have to do to halt the rot and start picking results in the league, they must do when the Clarets visit the Emirates on Sunday.

Arsenal are in unfamiliar territory at the moment, Arteta is facing a sort of crisis and he’s getting overwhelmed, not only by how bad his players are but also by how impatient the fans are and there seems to be nothing he can do about it.

To be fair to the fans, you’ll ask yourself, how do they express themselves freely in the Europa and then come back to the premier league and start playing backward and sideway passes? You don’t go from being an extrovert to needing push buttons to relate overnight, it’s a dire situation and it’s hard to understand.

Burnley aren’t really playing their best football at the moment but they did manage a point at home against Everton last weekend and they did from a winning position; it was Sean Dyche’s 100th game in charge but Dominic Calvert Lewin equalized deep into the first half to share the points.

The Clarets are flirting with relegation, currently 18th and one point away from safety, a win over Arsenal and they will definitely be able to breathe but can they pull this off?

Arsenal finished their Europa League group stage with a flourish, remaining the only team in the whole of Europe to have a 100% record in continental competition.

But will now face stiffer oppositions after the likes of Manchester United and Roma dropped into the competition.

Arsenal still won’t be able to call on Nicolas Pepe for this game, he serves the final match of his three-match ban following his silly head butt on Allioski of Leeds United and there are doubts about the fitness of David Luiz and Thomas Partey.

Burnley need the result to steer clear of the drop zone while Arsenal must win or they will have fans calling for the head of Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal sure knows how to beat Burnley, oftentimes it’s down to a late goal but the recent result shows Burnley will have to do more than scoring once to get a result here.

Verdict: Arsenal to win
