We’re back again with transfer stories today as the window gradually ticks towards the end, looking at select clubs and what they’re trying to do with incomings and outgoings. Here you go!

Is Liverpool honestly going solo?

After the Martin Zubimendi shutout, Liverpool isn’t busy in the transfer market, with Arne Slot confident they have what it takes within the squad to navigate his first season in charge. Is that a fact?

Liverpool is thin in the midfield; academy boys can fill in at some points, but when the pressure hits home, will these toddlers stand toe-to-toe against top stars from other clubs? The Kops are good upfront, but to stand any chance, they must bring in a body in defense and midfield.

What's the situation at Arsenal?

The Mikel Merino saga has gone on for too long, but it looks like the Gunners will eventually get their man before the week runs out. However, is that all the Gunners need to compete against Manchester City?

Arsenal does need a right winger who will share the burden on Bukayo Saka's shoulders; managing the England winger's minutes will be key to his form this season. Another conversation is about getting a new goalkeeper if Aaron Ramsdale leaves, but with Kai Havertz firing, Mikel Arteta doesn't want a new striker.

Is Enzo Maresca breathing fine?

The opening game of the season doesn’t necessarily define the campaign, not the least one against a team like Manchester City, but Chelsea held their own and could have earned something if they had a better striker. Is that why they retain some interest in Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen?

On Wednesday, the announcement of Joao Felix as his replacement will present Maresca with a new selection dilemma. Armando Broja is leaving for Ipswich on an initial loan deal; Raheem Sterling is expected to find a solution elsewhere; and how does Maresca fit his players into the team sheet?

Is Ugarte the answer for United?

Manchester United has advanced an agreement with Uruguayan midfield enforcer Manuel Ugarte from PSG, with the French champions keen to sell; however, the two clubs have yet to agree on a payment structure.

Casemiro was solid against Fulham on day 1, but his legs aren’t the same anymore, and Kobbie Mainoo needs more experience in the role despite showing promises. The defense looks good, and with the new additions coming in well so far, United might be the surprise package this season.
