Another interesting midday fixture is the one at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where Spurs would hope to do better than they did on Monday when they travelled to Leicester City.

Ange Postecoglou’s side had a series of chances to bury the Foxes in the opening fixture of the new season but fluffed their lines and had to settle for a draw as Jamie Vardy stormed the yard with a leveller, which Spurs couldn’t do anything about.

Everton had a better-forgotten opening day, and they must put that behind them as they travel to London to negotiate with a bleeding Spurs; Sean Dyche saw his team capitulate at home to Brighton despite having good chances to make something happen.

It looks like the Toffees will be among those who will fight it out at the bottom of the log again, with nothing inspiring happening for them in the transfer market. They have introduced a couple of names, but still not enough quality to compete at the top.

Tottenham gave some fresh faces some minutes as they chased a winner against Leicester. It was good to see consistency in how they set up, and it will be interesting to see how Everton tries to stop the barrage of attacks from the hosts.

Everton isn’t in a good place, Jarrad Branthwaite hasn’t gotten the move he wanted, and the Manchester United chapter has closed with Mathijs De Ligt and Leny Yoro signing for the Red Devils. The England defender is injured and wouldn’t feature on Saturday.

James Tarkowski is also out, so we anticipate Michael Keane and Jake O'Brien to take his place at center back, Mason Holgate to replace the suspended Ashley Young, and Vitaly Mykolenko to round out the back four.

Tottenham’s new striker, Dominic Solanke, has been ruled out due to an ankle injury he sustained in training. This must be a hell of bad news for fantasy managers who selected the former Liverpool and Bournemouth players in their respective teams.

Everton will set up to defend; they must be accountable with possession and disciplined when they don't have the ball. They also have to contend with one of their old boys, Richarlison, who could be called on in place of the injured Solanke

Verdict: Tottenham to win
