After the stellar unveiling of Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid, interesting stories are trickling in from different quarters including the shock departure of Gareth Southgate from his England role, we take a look at some buzzing topics.

Is Trent Alexander Arnold to follow Mbappe?

With Kylian Mbappe’s ceremonious announcement on Tuesday, Real Madrid is plotting another major coup with England and Liverpool’s right-back Trent Alexander Arnold on their wish lists.

The La Liga giants have told relevant parties that they’re interested in the adventurous defender. With Jurgen Klopp gone, TAA could be interested in the opportunity to file out for Real Madrid; it’s a possibility to watch out for.

Lille accepts United’s bid for Yoro.

Lille officials are advising highly-rated defender Leny Yoro to accept Manchester United's bid of €50 million for the player, which the club has accepted.

Manchester United needs a replacement for Rafael Varane and has already identified the Lille defender with high ceilings. Yoro is holding out for Real Madrid, who are also interested, but the La Liga giants must sell before they can make him happen.

Ederson to stay at City

Ederson, the goalkeeper for Manchester City, will remain with the English champions after Al Nassr failed to meet the club's valuation of the shot-stopper.

City quoted a sum of €60 million for the Brazilian, while the Saudi club only wants to play half of that. Al Nassr is now negotiating with Atletico Paranaense for Bento, who is set to come cheaper and offer almost the same value.

Potter to beat Howe to the England job?

Graham Potter, a former coach at Chelsea and Brighton, is the front-runner for the England position. Following Newcastle's insistence, they will vigorously defend Eddie Howe's position at St. James's Park.

Following Gareth Southgate’s departure on Tuesday, pundits have started suggesting names for the vacant role, with Potter leading the other options. The former Chelsea man is interested and will jump at the offer. The FA is working on a replacement and will announce its decision imminently.

Moussa Diaby wants Saudi Arabia move.

Stranger things have happened, but Aston Villa’s Moussa Diaby heading to the Saudi Professional League after a stellar year in the Premier League will dumbfound anyone.

The Villa winger has held talks with Unai Emery, and he insists he wants to move to the oil-rich nation. The club has told Al Ittihad that their winger will cost more than the initial €55 million quoted for him. It’s up to the Saudi club to level up.
