The champions will have the opportunity to respond to whatever Arsenal does at the Emirates later in the day, knowing they only need to equal Arsenal’s results to be champions again.

With four left to play, the ask for City is simple and straightforward: beat everything in front of you, and you’re the Premier League winner. With their European dream done and dusted, they don’t have an excuse; they can do it and probably will.

Wolves have done well this season; they are safe from relegation with a potential top-ten finish on the cards. They will attempt to do what no one has done this season, which is to beat the champions at the Etihad. They have done it before; can they do it again?

By the time City kicks off on Saturday, they could already have one hand on the Premier League trophy, and that is if Arsenal doesn’t win in the early kickoff. Whatever happens in the Arsenal game, a City win keeps Pep Guardiola’s men in charge.

Pedro Neto is back in training; Wolves missed him greatly this season, and I wouldn’t be sure he will be a part of them next season with top sides looking at him. A few names will be unavailable for this fixture for the visitors, but Gary O’Neil has enough to trouble the hosts.

Erling Haaland returned to the score sheet last weekend, and a trademark Haaland goal that took him past everyone else in the golden boot race also helped City steer clear of Nottingham Forest as the hosts continued to create chances last weekend.

Phil Foden is fit and available for selection; Kevin De Bruyne is primed to help see out the title race; and Ederson has recovered from the shoulder problem that got him substituted last weekend. Manchester City has a fit squad; they won’t have many problems dealing with Wolves.

Mario Lemina must stay disciplined in midfield; he has the most bookings in the Wolves squad, and, despite popping up with goals and strong performances, he is a potential time bomb. Mattheus Cunha and Hwang Hee Chan are other players who could give the Wolves a chance.

Verdict: Manchester City to win
