The title race in the English Premier League is well and truly on, with the trio of Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal leading the way.

You’re within your rights to expect the reigning champions to do it again and return with their record fourth straight Premier League title, something no one has ever done before, with the way they handled things at the G-Tech Stadium on Monday night.

You can make a case for the three front runners, as only two points separate the three of them. Liverpool leads the way, and the duo of Arsenal and Manchester City are just behind by two points, albeit with the champions having a game in hand against Brentford.

You wonder if the announcement of Jurgen Klopp’s departure from Liverpool at the end of the season would galvanize the Kops’ engine, giving their manager a parting gift after such a long time with them, characterized by a Premier League title—their first in the Premier League era.

Liverpool also won the UEFA Champions League in the process, conquering the whole world months later, and then cup triumphs here and there; they will miss Klopp and must find a solution to the dugout if they don’t want to return to the abyss of old.

For Arsenal, they must be honest with themselves; they’re the weakest of the three and would have to work hard to beat the other two. Make no mistakes. Mikel Arteta’s squad is a talented one, and they proved their worth at the Emirates against Liverpool. The win was not a mistake, but they need to do more.

The Gunners must manage games better and cut out silly mistakes like the one that got Liverpool back into the game on Sunday. Defensively, Arsenal has improved greatly; it should even get better when Jurien Timber returns from injury.

Offensively, Arsenal’s quality is undeniable, but they need experience up front. The durability of Gabriel Jesus is becoming a concern; he was absent against Liverpool due to knee issues, and his continued absence will hurt Arsenal’s title ambitions.

Liverpool needs Mohammed Salah back on time. Darwin Nunez offers dynamism, but if he wastes chances the way he does, you only need your surrounding players to come up with the goods for you to survive.

For Manchester City, everyone is available, and that is something you need to celebrate. Pep Guardiola can call on everyone when he needs them; that’s a huge advantage, and you must think he won’t want to miss out on what no one has ever done in the league: winning four on the bounce.
