There are four 3 p.m. games on Sunday, and the peak of the bunch is arguably the trip of Marco Silva’s Fulham to Jurgen Klopp’s Anfield. It will be fun.

Liverpool is certainly the stronger side, and Anfield isn’t a ground you want to excitedly visit, but the Lilywhites have picked up interesting results on this ground in the past, and they will fancy their chances again on Sunday.

Liverpool is in a good place after their quality point at Manchester City last weekend. Not many teams go to the Etihad and return with anything, but a fine Trent Alexander Arnold strike earned Liverpool a point, and it can get better with a win over Fulham.

Fulham beat Wolves with two Willian penalties, the second being the winner, which arrived deep into stoppage time. That result means Fulham halted a run of back-to-back losses and could surge closer to the top half of the table if they beat the Kops on Sunday.

It’s been an indifferent season for the Lilywhites. Goals have come from unlikely sources, with their strikers struggling to deliver. Willian will be immense again on this trip, but how much joy will he have against Liverpool’s strong defense?

Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Alison will be out for a while, but Diogo Jota will be out for longer after both picked up injuries in their 1-1 draw at the Etihad. The good thing is that the injury table is getting lean at Anfield, but they need to fix their midfield in the winter window.

Joao Palhinha will return from suspension to help the midfield, while the form of Alex Iwobi will also come in handy. Raul Jimenez, if handed the starting role on Sunday, must find ways to make his presence count; he hasn’t been the same since that infamous clash with David Luiz over two years ago.

Luis Diaz is a player to watch out for; with Jota out, the Colombian is expected to join Mohammed Salah on either flank, and Darwin Nunez is believed to be the man up front. Cody Gakpo got a pair of goals in midweek as Liverpool surged into the round of 16 in the Europa League. He will have a part to play again.

Verdict: Straight win for Liverpool
