The Moises Caicedo domino has finally reached a conclusion, as the Ecuadorian will be a Liverpool player by the end of Friday.
Chelsea chased the Brighton midfielder for the entirety of the window but kept receiving emails of rejection from the Seagulls, who maintained the player’s valuation was above £100 million and they wouldn’t consider anything less.
Following four rejected bids by Chelsea, Liverpool submitted a staggering £110 million bid, which Brighton has accepted, reaching total agreement with the Kops for what will become a new British record for any player in the league.
Brighton bought Caicedo for £4.25 million and will be making over £100 million in profit on him. Chelsea will turn to Romeo Lavia of Southampton after losing out on their top target. Caicedo is billed for a Liverpool medical on Friday.
Caicedo will join Alexis MacAllister at the heart of the Liverpool midfield. Liverpool parted ways with Naby Keita, James Milner, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Fabinho, and Jordan Henderson in the current window and was looking light until the imminent arrival of Caicedo.
